Paper Rolling With Leaves and Berries, Title by poet, W. Perry Epes
Stoneware, paper, acrylic, cone 6, 5’ x 8” x 8” high, 2015

Paper Rolling with Berries and Leaves was sculpted in Seattle, Washington during an artist’s residency at Pottery Northwest. I sculpted components from my environment, and then combined them into a multi-media work, bringing paper and ceramics into one lyrical composition. I collaborated with my poet friend, W. Perry Epes and a group of students on writing titles. Epes graciously titled this work and some of my other sculptures during an exciting poetry writing workshop at Episcopal High School.
